This is not a Pinterest pose list. It is seven photos from actual wedding days that couples wish they had photos of once it is too late to go back, plus what we need to do to make sure each one gets captured, no matter which photographer you end up hiring.

Most of the photos you want to capture on your wedding day are fairly obvious, but there are always a few unforgettable moments that nobody saw coming. For example, I was once at a wedding where it started to rain towards the end of my couples photo session. So we used that opportunity to take photos in the rain, the bride however didn’t want to dirty her dress yet we did need to hurry to the reception. (Understandable)
Thankfully, I always carry 2 umbrellas with me. (Yellow and clear umbrella which you may spot in photos.) Of course an umbrella won’t cover a big dress however it was big enough for her to feel comfortable under. So we left to our vehicles under these umbrellas, as it rained. I used that opportunity to take photos of both of them under the umbrella. Despite the bride not wanting to get her dress dirty these were some of her favorite photos from her wedding.
Here’s the catch. It takes a special kind of photographer to know when those moments are coming, get in position, and capture them in a way that feel genuine and authentic. The photos they got can totally be staged however a traditional photographer wouldn’t replace these images with their standard poses. This is a perfect example of a situation where you might hire the well-known photographer but they still might not be what you need to capture the full experience of your wedding day. (Let’s be real for a moment. If they are a little old or overweight are they going to run 20-40 ft from you to get the shot?)
